About 대관령면

대관령면(大關嶺面)은 대한민국 강원특별자치도 평창군 동북쪽 끝에 있는 면이다. 동쪽으로 강릉시와 접한다. 면적은 221.63km2이고, 인구는 2010년말을 기준으로 6,231명이다. 본래 강릉을 거쳐 정선에 속하는 지역이었으나, 1931년부터 평창에 속하게 되었다. 행정구역상 평창군에 속하지만 평창읍보다 강릉시와 교류가 더 많은 지역이다. 면의 명칭은 원래 도암면(道岩面)이었는데, 2007년 대관령면으로 변경되었다. 모나 용평과 알펜시아 리조트가 조성되어 있고, 2018년 동계 올림픽 주 경기장 소재지이다.우리나라 면 단위 중 평균 해발 고도가 가장 높은 면이며 면사무소 소재지 역시 해발 고도가 가장 높은 곳에 위치해 있다.
